Information security (sometimes referred to as InfoSec) refers to the word used to describe companies that employ methods and tools for securing data. It includes policies that block people who are not authorized from accessing business or personal information. InfoSec is a dynamic field that covers many fields, from security for infrastructure and networks to testing and auditing. Information security protects sensitive data from any unauthorized activity, including the inspection, modification or recording, or any disruption or destruction.
